On behalf of the Departments of Anesthesia of McGill University, Queen’s University, and the University of Ottawa, we are pleased to invite you to the second annual Lower & Upper Canada Anesthesia Symposium (LUCAS). This is a joint conference sponsored by 3 leading Canadian Anesthesia Departments, with the goal of producing a comprehensive, high caliber learning experience for academic anesthesiologists, community anesthesiologists, and related health-care professionals.

The 2018 edition of LUCAS will be held on the weekend of February 3-4, 2018, with a pre-conference workshop on February 2nd, at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in beautiful Montréal, Quebec. The conference will serve to provide an excellent educational and networking experience, all in the historic downtown Montréal.

Montréal’s world-class cultural, culinary, shopping, and sports experiences will surely add to the social aspect during your stay in this beautiful city!

This year, we are also including a special bilingual learning tract, to be run in parallel with LUCAS, directed specifically at our Respiratory Therapy / Anesthesia Assistant colleagues in the form of a one day workshop (February 3rd): the Anesthesia Assistant Update / La Mise à Jour en Anesthésie Des Inhalothérapeutes.

We also continue our close collaboration with our colleagues at PACT (Perioperative Anesthesia Clinical Trials group) and the ACUDA Chairs as they host their annual meeting concurrently with LUCAS in Montréal.
