In 2008 the College Council set the PSA Benchmark at 70% or above the 6th percentile (whichever is lower in a given year). Please note that the precise benchmark score changes slightly from year to year. Therefore, if a Member’s score is 70% or greater, then they have successfully completed the PSA, regardless of the benchmark score for that year. If it turns out that their score is below 70% and below the benchmark, they will be notified by the CRTO and provided with an opportunity to re-try the PSA in an effort to improve their score. Please note that a second attempt at the PSA must be completed within 15 days. Should the score still not reach the benchmark on the second attempt, the Member may be required, by a panel of the QA Committee, to undertake a Specific Continuing Education or Remediation Program (SCERP).
