Bill 60 – Your Health Act, 2023 – received Royal Assent on May 18, 2023. The amendments to the Respiratory Therapy Act, as well as other legislative changes required to enable this Act, are now out for consultation.

Please take this opportunity to have your say regarding this significant change in registration requirements for applicants from other Canadian jurisdictions. The deadline for input is July 9, 2023.

The CRTO supports all efforts to ensure there is a sufficient number of practitioners to deliver the essential services that RRTs provide, and that this care is provided by qualified and competent Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs). Therefore, the CRTO continues to make every effort to register all applicants as quickly as possible, while at the same time ensuring that the public of Ontario receives high-quality, safe, competent, and ethical care from RRTs.
